Road to Safety Continues: Be Safe, Be Different, Be Yamaha Batangas Tour - 2nd Leg

Yamaha Motor Philippines Inc. (YMPH) takes the lead in promoting safety riding awareness as they kicked off the second leg of its “Be Safe, Be Different, Be Yamaha” Tour in the roads of Batangas last May 19-20, 2012. It aims to impart the public the importance of knowledge in safe motorcycle riding by utilizing the Yamaha Riders Club Philippines as the chief advocates of safety.

As early as 4:00 am, Tanauan and Lipa riders registered in Yamaha 3S Shop Lipa and took the road to Batangas City to meet up with the Batangas riders.  Everyone gathered to Lemery for a gas up. They joined with the Nasugbu riders upon reaching the 3S Shop of the said town. Entirely, sixty-three (63) brisk riders participated in this one-day and one-night exhilarating touring activity.

Safety awareness activities were conducted in Nasugbu 3S Shop. Riders were very eager to educate the people about safety riding by distributing flyers and showing the “Be Safe, Be Different, Be Yamaha” Placards.

After the program, the riders geared up their Yamaha motorcycles to reach Matabungkay Beach Resort. As the heat of the sun rages, the riders enjoyed their smooth trip and arrived on the resort safely.  Feeling tired and hungry, riders filled their bellies with sumptuous meal and finally rested their drained bodies.

The riders registered for the evening program at around five in the afternoon. Several games were conducted such as Paint Me a Picture, Tug of War and Amazing Race which energized them for the entire night. YMPH safety instructors educated the riders about the Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) that tackles about the safety precautions while riding a motorcycle in the road. After learning new things about road safety, dinner was served to the riders.

The charming “Gem’s Angels” entertained the riders through their graceful dance moves, hilarious jokes and lively games. Lucky riders who won the YSRS Quiz Bee received various Yamaha premium items. YMPH President Mr. Takeshi Yano and After Sales, Logistics and Corporate Support Director Mr. Yukio Fukada gave their warm greetings and extended their appreciation to the riders. The program ended as the riders signed on the “Be Safe Wall” as a proof of their commitment to road safety. They relished their bonding moments as they took pictures together with big grins on their faces.

Mr. Yano emphasized that YMPH cannot just ignore what is happening in the road, specifically accidents caused by reckless motorcycle riding, so as one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers, they tighten their commitment to the Safety Campaign as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
