CHAMPIONS ARE CROWNED IN THE QUEEN CITY

OF THE SOUTH YAMAHA GRAND PRIX 9

The 2nd Leg of the Yamaha Grand Prix was a heated showdown in Cebu. The scorching weather was only an appetizer for the blistering battle of the evening. Riders from regions of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and Wildcards looked to unseat ‘The Chairman’ Masato Fernando from his dominance in the 150 Open UB Category. J.E Inguito, Bornok Mangosong, and McKinley Kyle Paz, were worthy contenders as they fought their way to the top. But Masato could not be denied and cruised to the finish line to strengthen his dominance over the category.

The All-Female category already has its 3 finalists from the region of Mindanao. Now it was time find out the Trio of Cebu. C-Let Quizon led the way with her unparalleled skill and experience against her fellow females. It was a happy moment for her to see that she is racing alongside more women in her hometown and is excited with growth of the category. She may have finished at the top but the race was all about the ladies alongside her, together it was a demonstration of the ability of the fearless Filipina on the track.

The dealer cup race was an anticipated rematch. The category had LYR Motorhub and Motorace getting the best of their counterparts in the expert and intermediate categories respectively. Durraine Dan Carlos remained at the top in the overall standings but by suffering a loss in the Cebu leg it opens an opportunity to Garry Caneda and Ernie Daguio Jr. to claim his spot in the expert category. In the Intermediate category John Paul Lantape still leads the way statistically even with
just a 2nd place finish. Bornok Mangosong and Mcdon Dave Sande help their cause with their own podium finishes and set themselves up for a shot at 1st place.
