Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. holds 8th Yamaha ASEAN Cup in Malaysia




- The Yamaha ASEAN Cup is an international one-make race that uses Yamaha's sporty four-stroke underbone motorcycles. The race was joined by a total of thirty-eight (38) riders from the Philippines, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan.
- The race was held in Hang Jebat Stadium in Malacca, Malaysia on December 11 and 12, 2010.

- Jeff Chan (11)
- Dashi Watanabe (35)
- Marvin Mangulabnan (119)

- Novice class:
- J.E. Inguito (22)
- Vingie Coloma (25)

Race machines used
Expert class

- The machine used in the expert class was the Yamaha Sniper, the sporty premium bike. The Sniper boasts a powerful, liquid-cooled 135 cc engine that exhibits superior performance in all conditions. Numerous technologies have been incorporated in this bike, that add to its level of performance. Overall, this bladed-design motorcycle is popular on ASEAN countries.
- The Yamaha Sniper was chosen for the expert class to help improve the riders' skills. The recently held Yamaha GP One-Make Race also used the Sniper for the expert categories. The Sniper is chosen by many riders in national championships for its obvious excellent performance.
Novice class

- The machine used in the novice class is the Yamaha Vega Force, the sporty underbone recently launched last June 2010. This new member of the sporty manual transmission lineup features a newly designed frame, distinguised front mask and tail light, a high performance 115 cc engine, new chronograph meter panel and more.
Team Philippines's machines

- These motorcycles were painted in the official Yamaha racing blue color, and will sport the Yamaha "Speed Block" for the entire race. The Team Philippines' machines sported a light blue color with the national flag on the front cowling.

- J.E. Inguito finished 3rd place in the final heat of the Novice class. J.E. scored a total of 29 points, while Team Thailand and Team Indonesia scored 38 points and 30 points, respectively.
