Nearly 20,000 spectators witnessed the 9th Yamaha Asean Cup held at SM Sta. Rosa last December 6-8 2012. This three-day event sure gave one heck of an extreme adrenaline rush to those who witnessed the race. Truly was a sure history in the making.
The delegates from different Asean countries arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on December 5, 2012. Jam-packed with excitement, the riders gathered for a photo-op and checked-in at the Bellevue Hotel in preparation for the next day’s practice race.
December 6, 2012 strikes as the sun heats up with the practice race of both local and international riders. Two of the prestigious Filipino sports hosts, Rico Robles and Tom Alvarez, were present as the crowd feels the intense heat of the racing practices.
Side activities were also present at the AR Display area such as Yamaha Riding School for Kids, Yamaha Trick Shows, an every-hour raffle draw, Wii Got Games, and Free Photo Op to Yamaha’s Racing Bikes.


A huge welcome dinner invited the riders for a scrumptious meal while an ongoing video of Jorge Lorenzo, last Year’s Yamaha Asean Cup Racing Champion, simultaneously played at the background. El Gamma Penumbra and Folk Lorica, entertained the crowd through their Cultural dancing expertise.
A press conference was conducted at the vicinity around three in the afternoon, followed by an ongoing race tour and Welcome Dinner for the Yamaha Racing Participants.


December 7, 2012, The Qualifying Race started for both Heat 1 and Heat 2. The clash became more intense as the racers beat the time in order to get their preferred Grid Position.
Mr. Takeshi Yano Officially declared the Opening of the most awaited Racing Event of the Season. As the race ended, five different countries celebrated one-of-a-kind-victory as they gathered for the Farewell Party at the Bellevue Hotel Vue Bar on December 8, 2012. Thailand went home with the 9th Yamaha Asean Cup Championship Trophy.
