Alongside Valentino Rossi’s important win at this season’s MotoGP, the local Yamaha Factory Racing Team zoomed to be over-all champions in the Underbone King Race at the Batangas Racing Circuit last October 19, 2008.

Jeff Chan cemented his over-all lead in the 115cc Super Sports Production with Crypton Z. “I am grateful for the opportunity Yamaha has given me, says Chan “The support of the company is overwhelming for someone who has been a privateer for so long”

The team’s accomplishment spills over in the 150cc Expert Open wherein Jaime Barcial took second place after teammate, Maico Buncio, but won the over-all championship for this season.

Maico Buncio succeeded in dominating the championship with a big finish at the 125cc Expert Class Race and Superbike races. Buncio who was also joined the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Motocross of Nations in Laguna Seca, USA, was very enthused in claiming his first back-to-back career title. “I was racing against a very experienced opponent” says Buncio “It was a big push for me to work on my strategy”

With the grand slam win at both the international and local racing scene this year, Yamaha is the clear leader in motorcycle manufacturing and unarguably, Yamaha is truly the choice of champions!
