  • 6-Axis IMU plus lean-sensitive rider aids

    Developed from the YZF-R1, the compact new 6-axis IMU governs the MT-09’s high-tech rider aids, including a lean-sensitive 3-mode Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel LIFt Control System (LIF) and Brake Control system (BC). With this best-in-class electronic control technology, you are given ultimate control in varying weather and surface conditions.

  • Full-color 3.5-inch TFT display

    The 3.5-inch full-color TFT display features a bar-type tachometer that changes shade as rpm rises or falls, a clock, fuel display, average mileage, water temperature, air temperature and a gearshift indicator. Handlebar switches enable you to easily change displays and information.

  • Compact, bifunctional LED headlight

    A compact and bifunctional single LED headlight produces a powerful high and low beam, with an excellent beam spread that has soft, easy-on-the-eye edges. This single projector headlight gives the all-new MT-09 a truly distinctive, next-generation face, while the lateral LED position lights project a signature Y-shape, matched by the LED taillight.

  • Quick Shift System (QSS)

    The new up and down Quick Shifter System enhances the sport riding experience by enabling super-fast upshifts for outstanding acceleration. The downshift function allows smoother gear changes, which maintains chassis stability even when cornering, to give a more controlled feel when decelerating.

  • Lightweight Spin Forged wheels

    Weighing 700g less than the previous model, the new Spin Forged wheels ensure outstanding chassis agility, by decreasing the moment of inertia at the rear by 11%. This reduced unsprung weight also enhances suspension performance and contributes towards an impressive 9% improvement in fuel effieciency.

  • Adjustable suspension

    Fully adjustable 41mm front forks run with optimized settings that match the character of the compact new high-rigidity frame and reduce the tendency to pitch, giving a smoother and more controlled ride.

  • Radial front brake master cylinder

    The state-of-the-art braking system is equipped with a radial front master cylinder that produces a linear supply of hydraulic pressure to the 4-pot callipers which are mounted to the dual 298mm front discs, giving outstanding braking performance with fingertip control. This is the second Yamaha production to benefit from this advanced race-bred technology.
