When upshifting with the throttle still open, the switch on the shift
lever rod senses the motion and it automatically adjusts ignition timing
and engine output to instantly cancel out the drive torque. This provides
smooth acceleration and shortens the time needed to reach top speed.
Traction Control System
This prevents the rear tire from losing traction when the sensors detect any slip to keep you safe and confident on non-firm surfaces. This is the first small-displacement manual transmission Yamaha motorcycle with this feature.
Variable Valve Actuation (VVA)
This is the first ever high-performance VVA system that provides torque for ease of use at the low to mid-range RPM.

BI-FUNCTIONAL-HEADLIGHT UNIT and LED POSITION LIGHTS
The new headlight features a single bi-functional LED unit emitting both the low and high beam. Characterized by increased brightness, a broad beam spread and little variance in illumination across the beam.
AERODYNAMIC BODY DESIGN
It features new fairings designed for excellent high-speed stability. The slim profile and small frontal projected area work well with the M1-styled bubble windscreen to help prevent oncoming wind from being drawn in around the rider when in a racing tuck. This helps reduce discomfort when riding at high speeds.
Advanced Fully Digital LCD Meter Console
This houses newly added indicators for shift timing, the Traction Control System, Individual left and right turn signals and more. Two display modes to choose from: a Street mode placing priority on information necessary for riding on city streets and a Track mode that limits information to what a rider wants for the racetrack. The Trip/Info button gives the rider fingertip operation of all the panel’s functions, from selecting the info shown to display modes.
